GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • Yes β€” reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and holidays. Booking ahead guarantees your spot and helps us prepare your equipment and shuttle.

    Not required but strongly recommended. Same-day reservations are not available. WALK-INS welcome with no or minimal wait time. Groups of 10+ arriving the same day, please call 828-202-9440.

  • Tubular Tubing is located in Rosman, North Carolina, just minutes from Brevard in Transylvania County. All trips take place on the beautiful headwaters of the French Broad River.

  • We offer tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and both guided and self-guided fishing trips. Each activity includes transportation, equipment, and safety gear.

  • We operate seasonally, typically from late spring through early fall. Launch times vary by activity and river flow, so check your confirmation email or call ahead for the latest schedule.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Tubing floats last about 2 to 2.5 hours and can be extended to 4 hours. Paddle and fishing trips vary β€” most range from half-day to full-day experiences.

    There’s no rush at our pickup points β€” guests are welcome to take their time, relax, and even stop along the way to enjoy a picnic before heading back.

  • We recommend:

    • Water shoes or sandals with straps (no flip-flops)

    • Sunscreen and sunglasses

    • Towel and change of clothes

    • Drinks and snacks (cooler floats are available for tube trips)

    • Waterproof phone case or dry bag

  • Yes. Every trip includes convenient shuttle service to and from the river launch and take-out points.

  • Yes β€” plan on getting wet! Even during kayaking and canoeing, small splashes are part of the fun. Dress comfortably for the weather and water conditions.

  • Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages. Please avoid glass containers for everyone’s safety.

RENTAL & BOOKING

  • All rentals include high-quality equipment, life jackets, paddles or tubes, and transportation. Fishing and guided trips also include drinks and snacks.

  • Yes β€” groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount on tubing, paddling, and fishing rentals. Group reservations must be made in advance.

  • Yes, you can bring your own kayak, canoe, or fishing equipment. Just let us know when booking so we can coordinate transport and safety briefings.

  • Cancellations made 48 hours in advance receive a full refund. For weather-related closures, we’ll help you reschedule or issue a credit for a future date.

    Same-day cancellations not related to unsafe weather/water conditions are non-refundable

AGE & SAFETY

  • Yes β€” our section of the French Broad River is gentle and family-friendly. We offer kids’ tubes with closed bottoms and provide life jackets for all ages.

    Recommend children be at least 3 years old (not required).
    Note that we have sent children as young as 6 months at parents’ discretion.

    Life jackets required for children under age 5.

  • Yes, life jackets are included with every rental and required for non-swimmers and children under 13.

  • Friendly, water-loving pets are welcome on paddle and canoe trips. Pets should be comfortable in the water and under owner supervision at all times.

  • Safety comes first. If weather conditions become unsafe, we’ll pause or reschedule trips. Light rain typically doesn’t affect operations, but thunderstorms or rising river levels may cause temporary delays.

FISHING

  • Yes β€” a valid North Carolina Inland Fishing License (with Trout Stamp if applicable) is required for all fishing activities. You can easily purchase or renew your license online at license.gooutdoorsnorthcarolina.com

  • Yes, all guided fishing trips include rods, reels, tackle, and flies. For self-guided trips, you can bring your own equipment or rent a fishing pole for $10.

  • Our trips target smallmouth bass, trout, and musky β€” depending on the trip type and season. Your guide will help you choose the best technique for the day’s conditions.

  • Guided trips include an experienced local guide, boat, and all gear. Self-guided trips are for experienced anglers who prefer to explore independently. We provide a John boat rental with trailer and safety gear.

  • Austin is our local musky expert and lifelong angler from Transylvania County. He leads guided musky trips on the French Broad River, teaching casting, retrieval, and conservation techniques.
